Couples, Family & Children
Please note, Brightstone Clinic seeks to match you with the right therapist for your needs. We aim to respond as quickly as we can, but it can take a few days to identify the right therapist who also has availability. However, if you feel your mental health needs are urgent or you are in Crisis then we would encourage you to seek additional support as we cannot offer you a Crisis intervention service.

I’m Nicola and I work with adults experiencing difficulties in their close emotional relationships.
The relationship we have with our life partner can give us a sense of safety, support and confidence, of being cared for and cherished. When we experience difficulties in those relationships our connection can falter, our well-being can suffer and we can be left feeling overwhelmed by our emotions. This overwhelm can affect many parts of our lives and can bring fear, distress and loneliness.
I offer Couples in Counselling the opportunity to connect with each other again through a therapeutic relationship based on trust, acceptance, openness and collaboration. My work is centred around Couples with Relationship issues, from younger couples to older couples. But I also work with relationships impacted by Loss, Health issues and Bereavement, a Caring role and the Stress of change as we move through life’s varying stages.
If you’re struggling – why not give us a call today.

Stephen Peake
Hello and a warm welcome, I’m Stephen.
My heart lies with helping children and young people to thrive, I have a gentle and calm approach, where I understand how daunting it can be for children and young people to come for therapy.
Through my experience working in a Young Offender’s Prison, High School’s, Children’s Social Care and Children’s Mental Health Services, I have seen how young people’s emotional state and struggles can often impact heavily on their ability to learn and thrive with the challenges of everyday life.
With all ages, I place great importance on building a trusting empathic therapeutic relationship, creating a safe confidential environment where children and young people are accepted and valued as they are. Therapy would allow opportunity to explore, process and express feelings, building confidence to develop resilience and self-reflection, as well as exploring issues/experiences that are preventing children and young people reaching their full potential or causing emotional difficulties.
My work with young people has enabled them to navigate the changes and complexities of the adolescent years focusing on self-harm, suicidal thoughts, bullying, anxiety, low self-esteem, friendship group challenges, bereavement and changing family dynamics. I draw on a range of therapeutic models, depending on personal needs and preferences, including Person-Centred Therapy and foundations in CBT.
